What is ED Visa?
A non-immigrant ED visa (Student visa) is for the student who would like to study in Thailand. Student can extend a stay for 3 months up to 1 year each visa. (Depend on the programme).
The approval letter must be given from the Ministry of Education in Thailand for applying visa, It takes about 3-4 weeks.
What you will get?
You will be given an immigration stamp allowing you to stay for 90 days at first.
Student needs to extend a stay permit at immigration. (Depend on the programme)
Students have to notify the immigration office of their address when they stay in Thailand longer than 90 days.
Students on a private school visa (Language school) cannot extend their stay for more than one year (12 months) per visa.
If a school offers a programme that lasts longer than 12 months, you will need to apply for a new ED visa. This visa requires you to leave the country.

90-Day Report
What is the 90-Day Notification?
According to the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, all foreigners staying in Thailand on a temporary stay permit for more than 90 consecutive days are required to report their current residential address to immigration authorities every 90 days.
Important Notes:
- Notification must be submitted within 15 days before or up to 7 days after the 90-day mark.
- Failure to report on time may result in a fine of THB 2,000. If discovered through arrest, the fine may increase to THB 5,000.
- Departing and re-entering Thailand resets the 90-day count, starting from the most recent entry date.
Required Documents:
- Original passport and copies of relevant pages (personal information, visa and entry stamps).
- Completed TM.47 form (Notification of Staying in the Kingdom over 90 Days) with your signature.
- Download TM.47 Form
- Copy of your TM.6 (Arrival/Departure Card) – front and back, if applicable. Some travelers may use the digital Thailand Digital Arrival Card instead.
- Copy of your TM.30 (Notification of Residence by Landlord/Owner) if applicable.
- Proof of your Thai address, such as a rental agreement or house registration documents (requirements vary by immigration office).
- Previous 90-day notification receipt, if applicable.

- In person at your local immigration office.
- Online via the Immigration Bureau’s website (available for eligible applicants; usually not applicable for first-time notifications).
